Former Labour councillor John Kenny has died suddenly after a short illness.
He became a councillor in 1992 and served on Renfrew District Council then Renfrewshire Council.
He held various top jobs including the finance convener.
John was well known in local business as well as local history circles and community groups.
He had three children Alexis, Margaret and a son John, who passed away in his 20s.
