Kind hearted locals have raised nearly £900 for families left homeless by a fire in Paisley. Fire swept through the Shopsmart store in Wellmeadow Street in August and into the flats above where four families lost everything.

Donations were made by the public and also cash was raised by volunteers who packed shopping in a local supermarket.

Members of the public also donated clothes and furniture. Local business donated cash, clothes and vouchers for meals.
