Recently saved Kilbarchan pub the Glenleven Inn is to get a massive investment after it was bought over by a local businessman.

Locals were pleased when it opened it’s doors again a couple of weeks ago after it closed in June.

The historic pub was first opened in 1899 by a businessman from Glasgow.

New landlord Fraser Campbell, 39, who also owns another pub in Kilbarchan , the Trust Inn pub said there are plans for a £140,000 investment to refurbish the Inn – the first refurbishment in 35 years.

Campbell  told local newspaper The Gazette: “I approached Punch Taverns, who own around 1,200 pubs in Britain, and they agreed to invest if I bought the GlenLeven over.

“I have ran the Trust Inn for eleven years now, using it as a platform for many charity events and even Kilbarchan Choir.”
