A dog in Howwood has survived an attempted poisoning from a piece of meat laced with rat poison.
The meat was dropped over a fence in Midton Road, Howwood sometime after 10pm on Wednesday 23rd April but before 7.30am on Thursday morning when the incident occurred.
Luckily the vigilant owner of the Bichon frise dog spotted the meat and was able to take the meat from the dog.
The dog had his stomach pumped and bloods checked for poison and is now fine.
The owner reported what happened to the Police and has asked local people via Facebook to remain vigilant and check your garden.
