A cyclist is fighting for his life in hospital after he was struck by a car in Johnstone.

The man, a local teacher, collided with a Ford Mondeo on the High Street this morning, near Morrisons and Thompson Avenue, around 8.40am.

The cyclist, who’s 45-years-old was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he is currently being treated for a serious head injury.
