Special Constables from Renfrewshire and Inverclyde carried out an Action Plan in order to target criminals in the Ferguslie Park area of Paisley.
The Action Plan, devised and carried out by the Special Constables was fully supported by their Police colleagues on Friday the 26th June 2015.
The officer’s checked up on domestic offenders, those on bail or curfews and those with outstanding warrants. They also visited licensed premises and stopped 34 vehicles over the course of the evening which resulted in numerous offences being detected.
Sergeant Lynne Williamson from Paisley Police Office who was overall in charge of the Action Plan said: “Special Constables play an instrumental part in supporting police officers.
“There is no real distinction made other than they are employed in civilian roles also.
“This action plan gave Special Constables an excellent opportunity to take the lead by developing and enforcing the plan on the night. The enthusiasm and energy of all those involved meant that we had a very productive night resulting in a positive impact on the local community’
