Renfrewshire has named as one of the ten best areas to live in the UK.
The survey by uSwitch named Edinburgh as the best place to live out of 138 areas in the UK.
Renfrewshire was ranked joint 10th – after a rise of 102 places since the last survey in 2013.
The survey analysed a range of economic, environmental, housing, employment and educational factors.
Renfrewshire Council Leader Mark Macmillan has welcomed the findings of the survey.
Councillor Macmillan said: “The fact that an independent national survey has ranked Renfrewshire so highly is further evidence of some very positive trends and achievements.
“Renfrewshire is pioneering new approaches to the regeneration of our traditional town centres.
“Just look at the revival of confidence in Paisley. People are coming back to live in the town, a vibrant events programme is boosting the local economy and attracting tens of thousands of visitors.
“We are reviving Paisley’s outstanding architectural heritage which features the most Grade A listed buildings of any town in Scotland apart from Edinburgh.
“Renfrewshire is also getting behind the drive to make the town UK City of Culture 2021.”
