St Vincent’s Hospice have been awarded a total of £7,200 in grants.
The Hospice received two £3,600 grants, one from by Crerar Hotels Trust and the second from The Trades House of the Glasgow Commonweal Fund.
The hospice explained that sometimes patients can be quite anxious when they are admitted to the Hospice and they need to ensure that patients can enjoy a good night sleep.
Specialist mattresses help with the prevention of bed sores and offer the best comfort possible.
St Vincent’s have electric beds which help patients’ complex healthcare needs as they are designed to provide safe patient mobilisation, which is crucial for many.
The grant money has been used to renew one of their 8 electric beds and mattress, which, at 8-10 years old had become worn and difficult to keep operational.
Brigitte Main, Ward Manager states: “The new bed and mattress is a huge improvement to the comfort and care of our patients.
“The lady who is currently using the bed told me she is sleeping like a princess and having access herself to the remote control makes it so easy to get in and out of bed.
