A travelling contemporary art gallery is coming to Paisley and Johnstone at the end of the month.
Travelling Gallery was established in 1978 and to bring contemporary art to communities throughout Scotland. Its dual focus is to create highly engaging exhibitions and to provide a unique platform for arts education.
The current gallery will present an exhibition by Lauren Printy Currie in collaboration with Glasgow Women’s Library. Lauren Printy Currie works in sculpture, writing and installation, creating assemblages that hybridize the material and psychological qualities of objects.
The gallery began its Autumn tour on 17th August at Glasgow Women’s Library, and will be in Renfrewshire in October and November.
The Renfrewshire tour dates are:
- Monday 30th October 2017 – Paisley Town Hall, Abbey Close, PA1 1JF 11am – 5pm
- Thursday 2nd November 2017 – Mile End Mill, 12 Seedhill Road, Paisley, PA1 1JS Times 11am – 5pm
- Friday 3rd November 2017 – Johnstone Town Hall, 26 Church Street, Johnstone, PA5 8FA 11am – 5pm
Artist biography: Lauren Printy Currie lives and works in Glasgow. She graduated with a BA (Hons) Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee in 2008.
