Police are appealing for witnesses after an 11-year-old boy was injured after being hit by a car in Broomlands Street, Paisley.

The incident happened at around 3pm on Wednesday 8th November when the boy was crossing the road after leaving school.

He was hit by a Grey Saab Estate car which resulted in the boy sustaining a serious injury to his foot. The male driver initially stopped and spoke to the boy’s mother before driving off prior to the police arriving.

Police said that inquiries are ongoing to trace the driver and anyone with information is asked to get in touch. Those with information can contact the Road Policing Unit via 101 and quote incident number 1984.
