Director of the popular BBC period drama Poldark, Ed Bazalgette will be bringing his band to Paisley in July 2018 to play a rare show.
Ed who also directs Versailles, Dr who and many other well know TV shows is also the Lead Guitarist in The Vapors who had a worldwide hit with Turning Japanese in 1980.
The band were discovered by The Jam Bass player Bruce Foxton and co-managed with Paul Weller’s Father John Weller who invited them to tour with The Jam on the 1979 Setting Sons Tour.
After reaching Number 3 in the UK in 1980 with Turning Japanese and releasing 2 albums, New Clear days and Magnets, the band split up in 1982 but reformed in 2016 to play a small number of sold out shows.
Following the success of those shows The Vapors have continued to play selected shows around the UK with original members Ed Bazalgette still on Guitar Duite’s, Dave Fenton on Lead Vocals and Steve Smith on Bass.
