Police are investigating an assault and robbery on a 13-year-old boy in Paisley yesterday afternoon.

The victim was walking along Rowan Street at around 5.15pm when he was approached by two men who assaulted him and robbed him of his mobile phone.

Police said that the suspects then made their way along Rowan Street, heading in the direction of Neilston Road. The victim returned home and it was at that point the police were contacted.  The child did not require medical treatment.

The first suspect is described as white male, 5ft 8 in height, between 18 and 25 years old, of skinny build and gaunt appearance, dark hair and unshaven. He was wearing a navy hooded top.



The second suspect is described as white male, 5ft 8 in height, between 18 and 25 years old, of heavy build and gaunt appearance. He was wearing a grey hooded top.

Detective Constable David McIntosh from Paisley CID said: “This was a despicable attack on an innocent teenager who had simply been making his way home and extensive enquiries are underway to trace the individuals involved.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Rowan Street around the time of the incident a may have noticed two men matching the above descriptions, or anything suspicious at all, to please get in touch.
