A local hotel bartender has won an Exceptional Service Award at a glittering awards night in London.

Carol Thomas from Erskine, affectionately known as ‘Aunty Carol’ to her colleagues, has worked at Erskine Bridge Hotel and Spa for more than 30 years.

Originally in housekeeping and now a member of the bar team, Carol received her award following exceptional feedback from colleagues and guests, which added to a glowing nomination from hotel management.

John Stuart, Chief Operating Officer of RBH, said: “Carol is a great example of what anyone in customer service should be – helpful, friendly, and always smiling. She has been an essential part of the hotel throughout the years, nothing is too much trouble and she’s a real credit to us.

“Carol’s cheery personality is contagious – she always maintains a positive attitude. Guests and colleagues alike are always complimenting Carol on her exceptional guest service. She has a knack of making everyone she comes into contact with feel special, and is a very deserving winner of this award.”

The annual awards ceremony hosted by Redefine BDL Hotels (RBH), recognises the best hotels, teams and individuals across its 75-strong UK hotel portfolio and support teams and was held at Holiday Inn London – Brentford Lock on Friday 9th March. The black tie evening saw accolades presented across nine categories.
