A 33-year-old man died yesterday following a fatal road crash in Paisley on Sunday.

The collision occurred at around 5.45pm, Sunday 10th June 2018 when the victim, named by police as Brian Crossan from Blantyre was riding his Suzuki GSXR 750 motorcycle northbound on Penilee Road near to its junction with Arkleston Road.

The bike collided with a Fiat 500 car being driven southbound by a 57-year-old man.

Emergency services attended, however, Mr Crossan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Fiat 500 and his 59-year-old female passenger were uninjured. The road was closed while a full investigation was carried out at the scene.

A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Kenneth Malaney of the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Greenock Police Office is appealing for any further witnesses. He said: “I would appeal to any witnesses to this crash who have not yet spoken to police to please come forward.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who was driving on that road around the time of the crash, and anyone with dash cam footage that may assist our investigation to contact the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Greenock Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 3374 of 10th June.”
