It was an unbelievable fourth round match in the Scottish Cup, as the buddies turned on the pressure in the first half with a shower of goals. No less than seven goals were scored in the first half. Morgan opened the scoring with his first goal in the 4th minute. Reilly extended the lead to two in the 9th minute. Jacks Baird made it three after 18 off a corner. Smith added another in the 24th for a 0-4 lead for the Buddies. Reilly got the second of the half to extend the lead to five in the 32nd minute. A hat trick for Reilly made it six in the 37th minute. Reilly fourth goal in the 42nd minute send the match into have time with a 0-7 lead for the Saints.
Sean Wringe pulled one goal back for the Lothian Thistle to make it 1-7.
Dale Hilson got his chance to play in the 57th minute as he replaced McShane. Reilly left in the 60th to make room for Ross Stewart. John Sutton replaced Lewis Morgan in the 71st.
After a clinical first half, the Buddies took the game in stride and successfully moved past the fourth round.
