Police have found a body during the search for missing woman Karen Hughes.
Formal identification has still to take place but officers believe that it is 51-year-old Karen Hughes and her family has been informed.
Yesterday a police appeal to the public was issued for help to find her but officers have since called off the search when a body was discovered in the Arrochar area, Argyll and Bute.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Whilst carrying out searches in the Argyll and West Dunbartonshire Division, the body of a woman was discovered in accommodation in the Arrochar area.
“Although formal identification has still to take place, officers believe that it is Karen Hughes and her family has been informed.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, and a full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
