Renfrewshire Council has announced the registration dates to register your child for school.

Children who reach 5 years of age between 1st March 2019 and 28th February 2020 must be registered at their catchment school in January 2019.

Depending on your child’s surname, you will need to attend the catchment school in your area between 1pm and 3pm on one of two dates.

A to L – Wednesday 16th January 2019.

M to Z – Thursday 17th January 2019.

You will need to bring these original documents with you.

– Your child’s birth certificate
– Two proofs of residence, which must include:
council tax notice or proof you have registered for council tax at your property
– a rentbook or tenancy agreement for a rented property, a letter from your solicitor confirming that missives have been concluded if currently purchasing or a mortgage/bank statement if you own your home

You must register your child at one school, either the denominational or non-denominational school for your area however, after registering your child at a school you can make a placing request if you want to send your child to a different school.

Placing requests for the school year starting August 2019 at all schools, should be sent to Children’s Services by 15th March 2019.

Parents may make a request for early entry to school for a child whose fifth birthday falls after the appropriate latest date. More information on this can be found here: http://www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/article/3472/Early-entry-to-school.
