The 25th annual Quarriers Noel Lunch has raised an incredible £100,000 for services dedicated to children’s mental health.

This fantastic sum is a fitting tribute to the festive fundraiser’s quarter century which this year focused on mental health and the social care charity’s pioneering services which support the mental health of primary school pupils and their families.

Guests heard moving accounts of how Quarriers has helped a number of youngsters struggling with mental health, providing practical support to families and teachers. The charity hopes to tackle the stigma associated with this condition which affects around one in four people across the UK every year.

In the spirit of celebration, comedian Fred MacAulay entertained guests at the event at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel which also included entertainment from magician Billy Reid.

Alice Harper, Quarriers’ Chief Executive, said: “Christmas is a time of giving – whether that’s to loved ones, or to those who need it most and our guests certainly illustrated this. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and I thank each and every person who contributed today helping to make the 25th Noel Lunch a truly special occasion.

“The many services that Quarriers provides help to transform the lives of people supported and this can be seen clearly in our children’s mental health services which address a very real issue that affects so many.”

The Noel Lunch is Quarriers’ flagship fundraising event and a longstanding date in Glasgow’s festive social calendar. Each year, it raises vital funds to help the charity continue to deliver its life-changing services. Since its inception 25 years ago, the annual fundraiser has raised in excess of £1.25 million for people supported by the charity.

Next year’s Noel Lunch will take place on Friday 6th December 2019.
