A man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a mobile phone from a nightclub in Paisley.

Town Centre Community Police Officers attended Faction Night Club on Thursday 20th December 2018 and viewed CCTV footage and were able to identify the suspect.

The male was arrested two days later on Saturday 22nd December and appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court on Christmas Eve where he plead guilty to the theft and he was remanded in custody awaiting sentence.

When the arrest was made, officers found a small gold baby bangle on the suspect and they believe the bangle may have been stolen and are keen to trace the owner.

Inspector Tracy Harkins, said: “When the male was arrested he was found in possession of a small gold baby bangle.

“We are keen to trace the owner of the bangle as we believe it may be stolen property. Should any member of the public be missing such an item can they please contact Police on telephone number 101 and ask for Police Constable Fiona Mair from Paisley Police Office to be notified.”
