Police in the Scottish Borders have confirmed that missing teenagers were traced safe and well in the Glasgow Area last night.

Police in the Scottish Borders are appealing for assistance in tracing two girls who are missing from Jedburgh who may be in Johnstone.

Jasmine Hamilton, 12 and Ellie Gordon, 14 left their home addresses in Jedburgh yesterday and did not return home.

Police enquiries have identified that both girls are believed to be together and have taken public transport to the Greater Glasgow area and were spotted in Johnstone Town Centre around 10pm on Friday 18th January 2019.

Their current whereabouts are unknown and their friends and family are becoming increasingly concerned for them.

Jasmine is described as being 5ft 6inches, slim build, long dark hair and wearing a black jacket with furry hood, pink sweatshirt and black or blue jeans carrying a handbag.

Ellie is described as being 5ft 4inches, medium build, green eyes, dirty blonde wavy hair and wearing blue jeans, pink Adidas hoodie and green Superdry jacket.

Inspector Jim Morrison from Galashiels Police station says “Ellie and Jasmine have been missing overnight and have travelled some distance, this is completely out of character. Family and friends are understandably worried about them.“
