The Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group has been awarded Hotel Group of the Year. This accolade from the Scottish Hotel Awards was announced via Facebook.

The gala dinner due to be held on 26th April 2020, which would have been the 17th annual award ceremony, was postponed due to the current Covid-19 crisis.

Instead Scottish hoteliers and staff were invited to join online while the announcements were made. The organisers made this decision to give hotels and businesses some welcome good news and also to show support and recognition for their achievements.

The Manorview Group formed in 2007 and comprises eight hotels, two nightclubs, two pubs, a fitness & leisure centre and luxury spa. Venues in their portfolio include Bowfield Hotel & Country Club in Howwood and Lynnhurst Hotel in Johnstone. They also own venues in Lanarkshire, Glasgow and near Biggar.

The Group made the decision to cease trading on the 18th March, to safeguard the health and safety of their team, customers and communities, and also to protect their business and the jobs of their workforce.

A week later Manorview offered its empty bedrooms for NHS and frontline workers, at no cost to individuals. Over 2,000 bedroom bookings have been secured, enabling a crucial workforce to continue to go to their work while also protecting their own families at home.

David Tracey, Managing Director, Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group, said: “Sadly our industry is going through an incredibly challenging time, as is the case with many other sectors. To receive some good news is very welcome and we’re delighted to have been recognised, it means a lot to everyone in the Manorview team. We also wish to extend our congratulations to all winners, runners up and those nominated. We hope this has also given you a lift during these troubled times. And to everyone in our industry, we wish you good times and good fortune for the future.”
