Police Scotland are appealing for information following two incidents of hate crime in Bishopton.
The first incident occurred on Sunday, 25 October when a 22-year-old woman was in Kirriemuir Circle in Bishopton when she was subjected to racial comments from a group of youths aged between 14 and 15 years of age.
A further incident occurred on Tuesday where the woman was targeted again with racist comments being made to her.
Officers are carrying out enquiries to locate the youths involved and are appealing for any information.
Chief Inspector Jim Cast said: “Racism in any form is not welcome in Scotland and we will do everything we can to find the people responsible for these crimes.
“No-one in our communities should have to be subjected to that and I am appealing to local residents to contact us if they have any information regarding these two incidents, which we are treating as hate crimes.
“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1009 of 26 October, 2020. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can give your information anonymously.”
