The Scottish Liberal Democrats have announced that Katy Gordon has been selected to stand for the party at the top of the West of Scotland regional list for the 2021 Scottish Parliament elections.
Katy has spent over 25 years in the careers sector, helping school leavers apply for jobs and supporting adults facing redundancy, and is the party’s spokesperson on the economy and fair work.
Commenting on the nomination, Katy Gordon said: “I’m honoured to have been chosen to represent the Liberal Democrats in the West of Scotland. I’m looking forward to campaigning for local people on the issues they really care about: saving jobs, defending their children’s education and protecting the environment.”
Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie added: “I’m delighted to have Katy standing for the Liberal Democrats in the West of Scotland.
“We have a diverse and talented group of candidates seeking election in 2021 and she is a valuable member of that team. I know she will fight fiercely for their local communities and people’s access to well-resourced public services.
“This is a really exciting and important election. It’s a chance to push for recovery through partnership. Liberal Democrats will be focused on supporting people and businesses out of this crisis and putting the future of the planet centre stage.”
