Taylor Wimpey West Scotland challenged the Primary 5,6 and 7 pupils of East Fulton Primary School in Linwood to design a flag to welcome customers and visitors to the sales information centre and show homes at its Brooklands development in Linwood.

The winning flag design by Primary 7 pupil, Alex Paton, will be produced into a flag to proudly fly at the entrance to the development to provide a warm and colourful welcome to everyone visiting Brooklands.

Alex won a £50 voucher, and she will have the opportunity to visit the development to see her flag in-situ at the development. The standard of the entries was so high that five additional entries have been chosen to form part of additional signage at the development to welcome visitors, and each child has received a £20 book token.

Gillian Ward, Head Teacher at East Fulton Primary said pupils rose to the unusual challenge, she said: “Having the opportunity to work with Taylor Wimpey to design a flag to welcome new visitors to their local development in Linwood has been an unusual challenge. The children enjoyed tackling their brief to create a bold and colourful design, and I understand the judges found it hard to choose a winner due to the quality of all the designs entered. Alex’s flag will be displayed every day, which is a lovely connection between our school and the local Taylor Wimpey development at Brooklands.”

Audrey Ross, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland said: “We recognise the importance of making sure that we support the communities in which we build our new homes. It has been our pleasure to work with East Fulton Primary on this project to strengthen and extend our links once again with the local community of Linwood.”
