Kenny Sharp has retired from Asda Linwood after 30 years of service at the store.

The 70-year-old grandfather has worked across several different departments, including working as a Greeter and Security Colleague, before joining the Checkouts team.

Colleagues, on his final day, decorated his till with retirement banners giving him a last day he’ll always remember.

The store’s Customer Trading Manager, Agnes McKay said: “The send-off for Kenny was lovely – he got a wee bit emotional when it came to saying our goodbyes. Kenny is such a lovely person, and he has always cheered everybody up!”.

“Colleagues and customers love him here and I know for a fact we will all really miss him around the store.

“Thank you to Kenny for his service and support over the years and continuing to work all through the pandemic! Enjoy your well-deserved retirement.”

William Dolan, who is Deputy Manager of the store said: “I haven’t been with the Asda Linwood store for long, but I could tell straight away how well-respected Kenny is amongst staff and customers.

“He has a very likeable personality and was such a brilliant example to everyone in our store – Happy Retirement Kenny!”
