XSite Braehead has partnered with West College Scotland on an exciting student photography exhibition.

The free to view exhibition will see creative work, from Scotland’s next generation of photography talent, take over a 120m2 wall space within XSite Braehead. 27 of West College Scotland’s HND Photography students will exhibit work portraying a diverse range of subject matter including: fashion, intimate portraits, automotive, architecture and Scottish landscapes. There will be something to see for everyone.

The student showcase is the culmination of two years of work and will be the first time many of the students have had their photography displayed in public. The 81 photographs are the final pieces produced by the students ahead of their graduation in October 2021.

Robert Tabor, Curriculum and Quality Leader, Photography and Media at West College Scotland, said: “We wanted to show the students’ work off to the biggest and most diverse audience possible. Holding the exhibition at XSite allows us to do that. The wall space is perfect to show off the diverse imagery created by our students.”

Rosalind Gibson, Marketing Manager at XSite Braehead, said: “The work produced by this group of talented students is incredible. XSite is delighted to showcase their photography over the summer. I’m sure the exhibition will prove popular with our visitors and become a real talking point.”

West College Scotland has a track record of producing impressive photography talent, with past alumni finding work in a wide range of careers, from the glamorous world of fashion to forensic photography.

Alumni, Shaun Murawski, was commissioned to photograph HRH The Queen for an official portrait that now hangs in the Scottish Parliament. It is the official portrait representing Her Majesty in Scotland.

The exhibition is open now until 16th August.
