The long heatwave and Covid restrictions were lifting when Paisley & District’s University of the Third Age (u3a) Garden Gang’s summer visits began. Several members relished a trip to the House for an Art Lover gardens in Bellahouston Park, with lunch afterwards.

u3a chair, Kathy O’Donnell, who joined this activity group when it started, said: “It was a joy meeting face to face, and to be together again outdoors. Members appreciate Zoom calls but nothing beats seeing one another, chatting and enjoying the beauty of nature.”

Valerie Reilly who leads the Garden Gang remarked: “With more people on staycations, it seemed the right time to restart our visits to popular gardens. It’s been a tough year for everyone. Thankfully, many members felt ready to get outside, learn more about this iconic building and grounds, and socialise in the attractive, natural surroundings.”
