August marks the second anniversary of the opening of Fosters Funeral Directors on Ayr Road in Newton Mearns and the team are reflecting on serving hundreds of local families over the past two years.
The funeral directors would like to thank the local community for welcoming them to the town and for choosing Fosters funeral services. In a tribute to their predecessors, the company named their premises ‘Smith House’ as a mark of respect to Eric N Smith Family Jewellers, who operated from the building for many years.
Operations Manager Lorna Montgomery said, “Newton Mearns is a close-knit community and we have been made to feel very welcome by both local families and neighbouring business owners.
“We are thankful to the families who chose to entrust Fosters with arranging their loved one’s funeral. It has been a privilege to serve the community and to provide a compassionate and professional service to bereaved families.”
“In particular our thoughts are with those who had to say a final farewell during lockdown when restrictions meant they couldn’t invite a larger group of family and friends to join the funeral service.”
Lorna added: “Now that lockdown is finally over, we would like to remind the community that they are more than welcome to pop in for a coffee and a chat. Grief can be a very lonely experience and we’re always here if you need us.”
Fosters Funeral Directors operate 24 funeral homes across Scotland and the company recently invested in a new fleet of limousines and hearses. Providing a range of services from no fuss direct cremation to personalised or eco-friendly funerals, they champion the need for clear pricing and are disrupting the sector with their high-quality funerals and pre-paid funeral plans.
