A serial sex attacker sobbed today as he was convicted of raping three victims.

Mark O’Donnell carried out the crimes mainly at his home in Johnstone, Renfrewshire.

The 30 year-old had denied the allegations during a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.

He sat in the dock clutching a photograph up to his face and weeping as jurors found him guilty.

The attacks occurred between 2009 and 2018 involving two women and a 16 year-old girl.

O’Donnell had been on bail during the trial.

But, adjourning sentencing until next month, Judge Thomas Welsh told him: “Standing the verdict of the jury, I will remand you pending reports.”

O’Donnell, still of Johnstone, was also put on the sex offenders list.

After the verdict, prosecutor John Keean revealed O’Donnell had first been quizzed by police in July 2018, but was later freed.

However, after further accusations were made, he was charged and initially appeared in court in early 2019.

Mr Keenan added two of the victims had written impact statements for Judge Welsh to consider before sentencing.
