Bishopton residents have been thanked for visiting the mobile Covid-19 testing site in the area last week.
The facility at Bishopton Community Centre car park closed on Tuesday 31st August 2021, with 406 people who live, work or go to school in the area attending to take a test.
The site was part of the national community testing programme which aims to identify people who have the virus without knowing.
It found three positive cases who were then able to self-isolate and help stop the spread of the virus.
It was run and staffed by Renfrewshire Council as part of the national rollout of community testing sites and follows successful deployment of temporary Covid-19 test sites in Linwood, Cochrane Castle, Renfrew, Ferguslie and Johnstone.
Renfrewshire Council Leader Iain Nicolson said: “I would like to thank everyone who came along to the mobile testing site at Bishopton Community Centre.
“Community testing and identifying people who may have Covid-19 is an important part of ensuring we stop the spread of the virus, and it was encouraging to see so many people turn out to play their part.
“Please continue to get tested either at the community testing sites when available, ordering or collecting free Covid-19 home tests and, most importantly, getting your vaccine when it is offered.”
The facility used lateral flow tests – which are quick tests that were be processed on site and results were returned via text message within 45 minutes.
