Police Scotland have arrested a driver following a fatal road crash on the M8 motorway at the weekend.
Officers have confirmed that a 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with road traffic offences following the crash on the M8 at junction 31 westbound around 5.05am on Sunday.
Emergency services attended the scene after a blue Audi Q7 left the road and two men both aged 27 and one man aged 31 were pronounced dead at the scene.
Five other men were taken to hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries. The families of those who died have been informed.
Police Scotland said: “Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 0860 of 19/09/21.”
