Police Scotland have confirmed missing teenage girls Sophia Gourlay and Laura Walker have been traced and they are “safe and well”.

Police Scotland said: “We are pleased to confirm that Sophia Gourlay and Laura Walker, both aged 14, reported missing from the Lochwinnoch area, have been traced safe and well.”

A missing persons appeal has been launched to help trace two teenage girls reported missing from the Lochwinnoch area.

Sophia Gourlay and Laura Walker, both aged 14, were last seen around 6.20am on Tuesday, 28th September, 2021, in Lochwinnoch and are believed to have boarded a train from Lochwinnoch in the direction of Glasgow city centre.

Sophia is described as 5ft 6in tall with long dark brown hair and was wearing a black duffel jacket with black hood, black trousers and dark trainers.

Laura is described as 5ft 1in tall with mouse blonde hair and was wearing a black North Face hoody, grey jogging bottoms and white/black trainers.

Anyone who may have seen Sophia or Laura since this time, or has any information on where they might be, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 2723 of 28 September.
