Staff and residents at Anavo’s Ranfurly Care Home in Johnstone were treated to a tour of Ibrox – beloved home of Glasgow Rangers FC.

What a special day for the residents of Ranfurly Care Home who went along with their activity coordinators for a whistle-stop tour of the club.

They were guided through the club’s history, with exclusive access to the home and away dressing rooms. Everyone enjoyed learning about the Rangers history including its most memorable moments and visiting the illustrious Trophy Room and the Old Manager’s Room.

Activities Coordinator, Sharon Kerr, said: “Football has been a big part of our residents’ lives. Many enjoyed playing football when they were younger, so having the opportunity to visit this iconic stadium has been a real treat.”

Margaret Rooney, Home Manager at Ranfurly, added: “Our residents have been having so much fun with activities away from the home. We have worked relentlessly to keep residents engaged throughout the pandemic, but nothing replaces the opportunity to visit new and exciting places. Being able to explore the world again has been energising, and the residents and staff are already planning their next outing.”
