A brand-new Mobile Post Office has started today to serve 13 Scottish communities including Houston & Lochwinnoch.

It is operated by the Postmaster for Johnstone, Ewan Shaw.

This has restored Post Office services to the communities of Houston, Lochwinnoch, Fenwick, Annbank, Sorn, Chapelton, Inverkip, Bonnyton, Newmilns, Darvel, Eaglesham, Wemyss Bay and Old Kilpatrick.

David Duff, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to have introduced a brand-new Mobile Post Office to serve these 13 communities, restoring Post Office service to these communities.

“We thank the Postmaster for Johnstone for operating these Mobile Post Offices as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.”

The Post Office say that a Mobile Post Office is a tried and tested way to serve rural communities.
