A director of a Lochwinnoch-based wealth management company has been named Financial Planner of the Year.

Nicola Crosbie, who is the Director of Lochwinnoch-based Moran Wealth Management on Church Street was named the St. James’s Place Chartered Financial Planner of the Year for 2021.

The prestigious awards ceremony was held at St. James’s Place Wealth Management in London on Wednesday 9th February 2022.

The end award was the culmination of a rigorous selection process that began in September 2021.

Nicola was one of five finalists to make it through four rounds of shortlisting, including a range of challenges ranging from complex case studies, to panel interviews and more.

Nicola said: “This all feels like a dream come true, and I’m still waiting for the news to fully sink in! I’m feeling incredibly happy and grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way [including] my team, my colleagues in the industry, and of course my clients.”

This is the second year that Nicola had been shortlisted for the award, having been named as one of the five finalists at last year’s ceremony.

Nicola continued: “After being shortlisted last year, being named this year’s winner means the world to me.

“It was an honour to share this year’s awards ceremony with Alistair Black, Bina Dayaram, Sandro Forte & Evan Roberts – four incredibly talented and dedicated financial advisors, all of whom I’ve enjoyed spending time with and look forward to getting to know better.”

With 22 years of financial industry experience behind her, Nicola has been Director of Moran Wealth Management since 2010, and was named a Senior Partner with St. James’s Place Wealth Management in 2020.

As well as being a Chartered Financial Planner, Nicola is also a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, an accredited Society of Later Life Advisor, and holds a Masters Degree in Wealth Management from Loughborough University (2019).

Founded by Nicola and her father Michael Moran in 2006, Moran Wealth Management is a Partner Practice of St. James’s Place Wealth Management, giving clients the best of both worlds: the personal approach of a family business, and the peace of mind that comes from working with a global brand.

Nicola added: “Having Chartered Insurance Institute Chartered status means a lot to me – not because of the badge but because of everything that being Chartered stands for professionalism, sound ethics, responsible business practices and a commitment to putting clients’ interests first. That’s exactly what I’ve always hoped to achieve with Moran Wealth Management Ltd, and I’m lucky to have a great team behind me who share those values.”
