A thirteen-year-old teenager has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault in Lochwinnoch.

A playpark at Lochlip Road was cordoned off on Tuesday morning and didn’t reopen until later that evening.

Officers confirmed a 13-year-old boy had been arrested as part of an investigation into an alleged of sexual assault.

A police spokesperson said: “A 13-year-old male youth has been arrested following an allegation of a sexual assault in the Lochlip Road area of Lochwinnoch.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
