A Renfrewshire MP has issued an apology after she was filmed drinking alcohol on a train where it is currently banned in Scotland.
Mhairi Black, SNP Member of Parliament for Paisley and Renfrewshire South, appears to sip from a can, thought to be lager, while travelling from Glasgow Central after a football match between Ayr United and Partick Thistle.
A ban on consuming alcohol was introduced across all ScotRail services in November 2020 as part of their responses to the coronavirus pandemic.
The ban was extended for 17 months when the Scottish Government nationalised Scotrail on 1st April 2022.
A spokesperson for Black said: “Mhairi has been reminded of the rules and apologises.”
