St Mirren 0 | – | 1 Motherwell |
van Veen (42′ minutes (pen) |
St Mirren started the season with a 0 – 1 defeat to Motherwell but Saints should have taken something from this game. They dominated long periods of the 1st half before conceding a penalty and Motherwell went in at half time 1 goal to the good.
In the second half Motherwell captain goalkeeper Liam Kelly made a number of great saves and even though Motherwell went down to 10 men in the 82nd min when Lamie was shown a straight red for a bad tackle on Keanu Baccus. The steelmean held out for the win.
St Mirren however played well and in this form should go on to have a good season.
