A local fundraising group on Facebook have taken part in their annual present drop at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) in Paisley.

Admin and Users from the FaceBay Fundraising group, for the last few years,  have donated gifts and taken part in a yearly trip to deliver them at the RAH Children’s Wards.

FaceBay Fundraising told us: “We have done the present drop at the RAH for the past 3 years, we chose to buy and donate the presents because we were told that if we just donated cash then 50% would go to admin costs, so this way all the money we raise goes to the kids.”

As well as the annual present drop, FaceBay Fundraising have raised over £30,000 for good causes in the local area in the last three years.

If someone has something they plan to throw away, but the item still works and has some value left in it, FaceBay Fundraising will collect and sell the item.

The money collected is donated to charity and the person who donated it can select which charity receives the cash.

FaceBay Fundraising said: “It’s green because it is recycling something that would otherwise go into a landfill site. It helps people that cannot afford much and its helps charities because in the past 3 years we have raised over 30,000.

“We accept anything but we are really struggling most weeks for volunteer van drivers or people who are willing to pick up items in their cars.”
