The Renfrew Bridge has reopened following a short closure caused by a mechanical issue.
The swing bridge, which connects Renfrew and Yoker, was closed to all vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians on Friday while engineers investigated the fault.
It has now been confirmed that a further extended closure will be required on Wednesday 12th November to complete the permanent repair.
A Renfrewshire Council spokesperson said: “Renfrew Bridge has re-opened following a mechanical issue and is now available to road users, pedestrians and cyclists.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused. A further extended closure will be required on Wednesday 12th November to complete the permanent repair.
“The latest information on the bridge availability is on the Renfrew Bridge web page www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/renfrew-bridge
and Bridge WhatsApp channel.”
Motorists are being advised to check the Renfrew Bridge webpage and WhatsApp channel for updates before travelling, especially ahead of Wednesday’s planned closure.
