Police Scotland are appealing for information after a pedestrian was struck by a car in Paisley.

The crash happened around 12.10pm on Wednesday, 10th December 2025, on Causeyside Street near the junction with Stow Brae, and involved a pedestrian and a Kia Picanto.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, an 88-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Her condition is described as critical. No one else was injured.

Causeyside Street was closed for crash investigation work and reopened around 6pm.

Sergeant Fraser McEwan, from the Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.

“If you were driving in the area please also check any dash-cam you have to see if anything has been captured that could assist with our investigation.”
