Four men have been arrested and charged after cannabis with an estimated street value of up to £318,700 was recovered in Renfrew and Paisley.
Police officers executed six warrants across the two areas on Thursday, 12th February 2026.
During the searches, more than 1,000 cannabis plants at various stages of growth were recovered.
The men, aged 40, 37, 31 and 28, are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Friday, 13th February 2026.
Inspector Lorna McLaren said: “This was a substantial recovery, and the warrants were executed as a direct result of concerns raised by the local community.
“Cultivations like these often involve dangerous alterations to electricity supplies, which can pose a serious fire risk to the neighbouring properties and put residents and emergency services at risk. This kind of activity is not only illegal, but it can also have very real consequences for the wider community.
“We continue to rely on information from the public, and I would encourage anyone with concerns about drug-related activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
