A six-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in Paisley.
Emergency services were called to Johnston Street at around 5.30pm on Saturday 25th April after reports that two children had been struck.
The six-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene. A seven-year-old girl was taken to hospital for treatment.
Sergeant Jack Swindells said: “Around 5.30pm on Saturday, 25 April, 2026, police received a report of two children being struck by a car on Johnston Street, Paisley.
“Emergency services attended and a 6-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene. A 7-year-old girl was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Enquiries remain ongoing and our thoughts are with the family of the girl who died. They ask that their privacy is respected at this time.
“We would ask anyone who witnessed the incident to please call police on 101, quoting reference 2786 of 25 April.”
