Passengers travelling through Glasgow Airport are in for a virtual treat with the recruitment of a new member of staff to the terminal team.

A new ‘virtual’ assistant has been employed to offer advice and assistance to passengers at various stages as they travel through the terminal.

The recruit comes in the form of Scottish actress, Carina Birrell, who has starred in a number of television and feature film productions for likes of the BBC and BskyB.

Carina can be found at three key points in the main terminal building – at two different locations in the security hall, and in the main departures area.

Amanda MacLellan, terminal operations manager at Glasgow Airport said: “At Glasgow Airport, we put our passengers at the heart of our operations, and we are always looking at new ways to improve the customer experience. Our new virtual assistant is a fantastic addition to the terminal team, and she will offer advice and information to travellers as they pass through the terminal, helping to prepare them for their journey.

“Carina will assist everyone, and will be particularly helpful for first time or new travellers as they embark on the airport experience. We’re looking forward to hearing feedback over the coming weeks.”
