Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Road Policing Department carried out a Taxi enforcement initiative in Renfrew on Tuesday.

In total 84 taxis were stopped in a joint operation with Renfrewshire Council Taxi Enforcement and a total of 14 reported for vehicle defects.

Vehicles were stopped and checked for compliance with their taxi license and roadworthiness, drivers were breath tested on occasion.

Inspector Gill Gardner said “I am grateful for the positive support and patience of the public and taxi passengers on board during the operation”.
