Police Scotland are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision in Paisley.

An 18 year-old man was struck by a vehicle on Wellmeadow Street in Paisley, near to Lady Lane. on Saturday 23 April 2016 around 5am.

Emergency services attended and the man was taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital and subsequently transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Medical staff describe his condition as critical.

Officers from the Road Policing Unit are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information to contact them at Greenock Police Office on the non-emergency number 101.
