Paisley Pirates have won the Scottish Cup in spectacular fashion in Kirkcaldy, thrashing Edinburgh Capitals 9-0 in front of an ecstatic support in Fife.
Pirates opened with considerable determination and were chasing down every puck with enthusiasm, and no little success, to knock the Capitals off their stride and while they were caught with too many men as early as the 4th minute, they did in fact take the lead as with Caps’ netminder Mallinson well out of his crease mopping up, a defensive error saw the puck drop to Calum Blair in front of the empty net, and he wasted no time in blasting home to give his side the lead while shorthanded.
