Police detectives at Paisley are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Renfrew on Tuesday.
A 24 year-old woman got into her Renault Clio which was parked behind Aldi in High Street, Renfrew when a man got into her car and threatened her with a weapon.
The incident happened between 5.45 pm and 6pm on Tuesday 17th May 2016.
The woman got out the car and ran into a nearby shop for help and police were called.
She was uninjured but badly shaken as a result of the robbery.
The suspect is described as white, 30-40 years of age, 5ft 8 inches in height and of medium build with short blond receding hair.
Sergeant Manjit Singh from the Community Investigation Unit at Paisley Police Office said: “Officers are continuing their enquiries to trace the man responsible and we are currently studying CCTV footage to establish more detail on him.
“Officers are carrying out patrols in the area however, I would stress that this is an isolated incident however I would ask that people remain vigilant when entering or leaving their vehicles.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the car park area who witnessed this robbery take place, or anyone who may have seen the suspect acting suspiciously in the local area to contact police through the non-emergency number 101.
