The owners and staff of the new Italian Restaurant La Banca in Paisley are delighted to have become finalists in three different categories in the prestigious Italian Awards 2018.

The competition is open to all Italian Restaurants in Scotland and finalists are selected for each category by the number of votes from the general public. In total over 50,000 votes were cast in the competition.

La Banca, on Neilston Road, have been declared finalists in three different categories:

  • The Best Family Owned Italian Restaurant
  • The Best Pizzeria
  • The Best Wine list

Director and General Manager Rachel Lawson said “It’s an honour to represent Paisley in these all Scotland finals and I would like to thank our customers for their loyal support in voting for us.

“Since we opened we have tried to be a positive contributor to the south side of Paisley and it’s great to know our local community is right behind us.”

Director and Head Chef Lorenzo De Carlo, added: “For a new restaurant to qualify for one final would be a great achievement, that we have qualified for three in our first year is fantastic”

Director and Front of House manager, Chris Smith, said: “We have aimed from the start to open a top quality restaurant in Paisley that our town can be proud of, qualifying for three different finals in this highly contested competition demonstrates we are well on our way.

“Our sincere thanks to the good folk of Paisley for getting behind us as we take on the big boys from the cities.”

The winners in each category will be announced at a gala dinner in Glasgow in November.
