A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Paisley’s West End on Thursday.

The 64-year-old man was crossing the northbound carriageway of Gallow Green Road near to its junctions with Maxwellton Street and Broomlands Street in Paisley, when he was struck by a Vauxhall Mokka being driven by a 50 year-old woman.

Emergency services attended and the injured man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he is being treated for his injuries.

Hospital staff describe his condition as critical.

Officers from the Road Policing Complex in Helen Street, Glasgow are appealing for any witnesses to the crash, or to anyone who was driving on those roads around the time of the crash last night, who has dash camera footage to contact them as soon as possible.
